NCC/Scout & Guides
The Scout and Guide movement is a global youth movement that aims to develop young people’s physical, mental, and spiritual capacities. It emphasizes outdoor activities, community service, and personal development through a variety of programs and activities.
Scouting and Guiding originated in the early 20th century, with Robert Baden-Powell founding the Boy Scouts in 1907 and his sister Agnes Baden-Powell founding the Girl Guides (later known as Girl Scouts) in 1910. These organizations quickly gained popularity worldwide, inspiring the formation of similar groups in many countries.
Kendriya Vidyalaya MZU AIZAWL’s involvement in the Scout and Guide movement is commendable. Students actively participate in various competitions and levels within the movement, showcasing their skills and dedication.
At the Vidyalaya level, students engage in Pratham and Dwitiya Sopan competitions, demonstrating their proficiency and commitment to the principles of scouting and guiding. These competitions likely involve tasks and challenges that test their abilities in areas such as knot tying, camping skills, first aid, and community service.
